Installation

  1. Make sure the machine is turned on.
  2. Open the top cover until it locks in the open position.WARNING HOT SURFACE
The machine’s internal parts will be extremely hot. Wait for the machine to cool down before touching them.
  3. Remove all of the toner cartridge and drum unit assemblies.CAUTION: Placing the toner cartridge and drum units on a clean, flat surface with disposable paper underneath it, in case you accidentally spill or scatter toner.
IMPORTANTTo prevent damage to the machine from static electricity,
DO NOT touch the electrodes shown in the illustration.
  4. Once the toners and rums are out of the printer you will see the IMAGING BELT UNIT.
Lift the green handle of the belt unit up and then carefully remove it out without letting it touch the machine.

NOTE: Don’t touch the shaded parts shown in the illustrations with your fingers as this may compromise the quality of future printing. the surface is very sensitive.
Once removed the waste toner box will be exposed, now remove the orange packing clip and discard it.

This step is only necessary when you are replacing the waste toner box for the first time, and is not required for the replacement waste toner box. The orange packing is installed at the factory to protect the machine during shipment.
  5. Now remove the waste toner box from the printer by lifting the green handle. This should lift out easily.
  6. The waste toner box is not reusable and should be recycled at a local recyling station.
  7. Unpack the new waste toner box and place the new waste toner box in the machine. Ensure the new box is level and fits securely into place.
  8. NOTE: To avoid print quality problems, DO NOT touch the shaded parts shown in the
    illustrations.
  9. Replace the belt unit into the machine. Replace it carefully noting the positioning of the guides. Once again this should fit securely in place.
  10. Replace each toner cartridge and drum unit assembly into the machine. Ensure that the colours are in the correct places. Match the toner cartridge colour to the same colour label on the printer for all four toner cartridge and drum unit assemblies. As shown below. All toner/drum assemblies should be replaced with care ensuring the cartridges fit into the machine easily. Do not force a cartridge.
  11. Almost there, now close the machine’s top cover.
  12. All Done! The printer will now restart and be ready to print after a few minutes resetting itself.
